With all the options presented to us nowadays, decorating a house can be difficult and can be frustrating. But with a little bit of guidance and research, choosing the right material for your home can be easy as A, B and C.
Most of the common challenge a new homeowner encounters is whether to use curtains or blinds. Admittedly, I had the same dilemma 10 years ago. Eventually, I opted to go for curtains and I never looked back.
Here are a couple of tips to help you decide:
Installation
When installing curtains, all you need is a curtain rod that comes in variety of colors and shapes. In most cases, you can install the curtain rod without seeking professional help. While on the other hand, installing blinds can be sometimes complicated and may result to hiring the professional.
Maintenance
Once installed, that is pretty much it for the blinds. Cleaning can also be so painful. Instead, what you need to do is clean the blind layer per layer. You also need to be extra cautious when cleaning blinds, you don't want to create permanent dent to it. With curtains on the other hand, it is easy to wash them then hang a freshly ironed one.
Flexibility
Depending on your mood, you can replace the curtain of your choice. You can achieve a breezy feel to a dimly lit living space. With blinds however, we all know how limited your options are.
Obviously, I am not a fan of installing blinds at home. I just feel it's not dynamic enough to cope with the everyday humdrum of our busy lives. But then again, it is your choice at the end of the day.
Hope this blog helps you decide.
