Last weekend, I was in the mood to re-arrange and re-arrange some more the decorative pieces in my guest room. I started fixing them when the sun was still out. 5 hours after, I am still undecided if what I did is decent already. Ending, it took me 7 hours to fix the room. Time well spent!
Do you find yourself being in the same situation at some point in time? Well, do not fret! This is but normal when you are in the mood to clean and decorate any space in your room. I guess this is because we are not the expert when it comes to balance and leveling in terms of home decorating. In short, we are excused to experience the hit or miss approach.
Well, here's what I did that day...
I love reading and collecting magazines. So instead of placing them in a conventional magazine rack or cabinet, I opt to place them inside a native, see-through box with top opening. I actually bought the native box to keep fresh, white towels. But the look feels old already. So instead, I place magazines inside. The concept it the make sure the magazines are kept well and at the same time the guest can still check the magazines.
Another collection I have inside my guest room are the original DVDs of some of the movies I would watch over and over again. Originally, they were kept in a regular DVD holder. But yeah, it is way too boring for my own taste. So, I decided to hang some of them and showcase them as part of a bigger collection.
If you have some heavy decorative piece like my Hermione Granger figurine, you can use it as a bookend. Optionally, you can also use your heavy figurine to fill in irregular spaces of tables and headboard.
Every now and then I encourage you to re-arrange your decorative items. This way you avoid monotony and a fix look in your space.
Have a wonderful day to all!
