Ayala Land supports vaccine roll-out in its various developments

Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) is backing up local government efforts towards the efficient roll-out of the vaccination program in the country. Two of its largest developments, Ayala Malls Manila Bay and Circuit Makati, were utilized as vaccination centers by the Paranaque and Makati Local Government Units (LGUs), respectively, in collaboration with the Covid-19 Inter-Agency Task Force and the Department of Health. In addition, South Park Center, a commercial development operated by Ayala Land Logistics Holdings Corp. has been identified as one of the major sites for the Pfizer vaccine roll-out in Muntinlupa.

The initiative is part of Alagang Ayala Land, a broad community engagement program organized by the company to support Covid-19 response efforts; promote disaster preparedness; and create livelihood through social enterprises. All Ayala Malls nationwide are designated Alagang Ayala Land Centers. “The ability of our economy to recover fast from the impact of the pandemic will depend on the speed of the roll-out of the vaccines in our communities, and we hope to help out by utilizing our spaces to promote crisis response and recovery initiatives. With our Alagang Ayala Land program, our efforts are going to be more deliberate and focused in terms of addressing the critical needs of the community,” said Bobby O. Dy, ALI President and CEO. The ongoing Bakunado, Protektadong Paranaqueno COVID-19 Vaccination Program by the Paranaque City LGU, led by Mayor Edwin Olivarez, launched in April at Ayala Malls Manila Bay (AMMB). Initially, the mall converted its transport terminal to administer the vaccines. AMMB then moved and extended the vaccination site to two areas – first is on the 5th floor Cinema lobby with 2 theaters reserved for post-vaccination counseling, and the second is on the 2nd floor Exhibit Area. The two sites conveniently distribute the recipients between A1 (Health Care Workers), A3 (adults 18-59 with controlled comorbidities), and A2 (Senior Citizens). In partnership with Paranaque City LGUs and the Public Health Office, AMMB also welcomed the launch of the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine in the Philippines. Among its attendees were Presidential Spokesperson Herminio “Harry” Lopez Roque Jr. and National Task Force Against Covid-19 Chief Implementer Sec. Carlito G. Galvez Jr. The Sputnik V vaccine, developed by Russia’s Gamaleya Research Institute, arrived in the country last May 1. It is currently being administered at Manila Bay to health care workers and adults with co-morbidities. Circuit Makati, on the other hand, was the venue for the first drive-thru vaccination activity hosted by Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc (AC Health) in collaboration with the City of Makati led by Mayor Abby Binay. The program launched on May 7 at the open grounds of the estate. Operated by Healthway Philippines’ medical staff, the site services Makati residents and gives priority to persons with disabilities (PWD) and bedridden individuals. At South Park Center in Muntinlupa, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the simulation activity for the administration of the Pfizer vaccine in the city which is happening from May 14 to 18. The initiatives are aligned with the Ayala Group’s COVIDShield program which aims to administer 1,000,000 vaccine doses this year. Testing centers and donation sites Apart from enabling the vaccine roll-out in its developments, Ayala Land, through Ayala Malls has partnered with The Philippine Red Cross to operate RT-PCR Saliva collection centers in nine strategically located malls in the National Capital Region. The vaccination centers gradually opened this year as early as February. The Alagang Ayala Land program likewise supports community engagement activities that encourage people to assist others while livelihoods have been affected by the pandemic. In the true spirit of bayanihan, Ayala Malls kicked-off a Food Bank initiative—collecting goods to support their respective local Community Pantries. Patrons can drop off donations at Ayala Malls, or connect through A.N.A. (Ayala Malls Neighborhood Assistant), which assists contactless shopping of goods at Ayala Malls supermarket to be dropped off at the donation sites. The items collected are picked up by the barangay for distribution to Community Pantries around the city and neighborhoods. The Food Bank donation sites are located at Circuit; Glorietta; Greenbelt; TriNoma; Vertis North; U.P.
